Trial Operation Begins on Chongqing Section of Chongqing-Xiamen High Speed Railway
At 8 a.m. on May 9, the departure of test train No. 55901 from Chongqingdong Railway Station marked the successful completion of integrated testing and commissioning for the newly built Chongqingdong-Qianjiang section of the Chongqing-Xiamen High Speed Railway, officially starting trial operations.
The Chongqing section of the Chongqing-Xiamen High Speed Railway is a key part of the national "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" railway network plan's Chongqing-Xiamen corridor. Starting from Chongqing Railway Station, it passes through Yuzhong, Nan'an, Banan, Nanchuan, Wulong and Pengshui districts before ending in Qianjiang District, Chongqing. The line is designed for speeds of up to 350 km/h.
Currently, the Chongqing Caiyuanba Yangtze River railway tunnel from Chongqing to Chongqingdong is still under construction and progressing steadily according to plan. The trial operation covers the Chongqingdong-Qianjiang section, with a newly built main line length of about 250 kilometers and seven stations along the route. Once the Chongqing-Xiamen High Speed Railway is completed, travel time between Chongqing's main urban area and Qianjiang District will be reduced from four hours to under one hour, significantly boosting economic and social development along the line.
