Freight Volume on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor Continues to Rise
As of the morning of May 8, the volume of rail-sea intermodal freight trains on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor has surpassed 508,336 TEUs this year, up 71.6% year on year. The sustained growth in cargo transport further smooths a new logistics route connecting western China to the world, providing strong momentum to promote economic and social development in the west and boost trade and economic exchanges along the corridor.
Data shows that since the start of the year, shipments of stone materials, auto parts and other goods from Guangxi cities such as Baise, Liuzhou and Nanning to Qinzhou Port, Tieshan Port and Fangcheng Port have increased significantly, with a total of 183,000 TEUs, up 158.3% year on year. In late April, Chongzuo Quli Railway Station in Guangxi launched Guangxi's first multimodal "one-bill coverage system" train, opening a new model for rail-sea intermodal transport on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. Cargo shipments such as bauxite, raw coal and rapeseed oil from Qinzhou Port, Fangcheng Port and Zhanjiang Ports to western regions including Baise, Kunming, Chongqing and Guiyang reached 245,000 TEUs, a 59% YoY increase.
